Meet the Staff
President & Senior Insurance Advisor
johnyasik@poland-sullivan.comJohn began his insurance career in 1983 with The Travelers Insurance Company. In 1991, he joined Poland & Sullivan Insurance as a commercial insurance advisor. John became President and equal stockholder along with his business partner Andre Hoeschel in 2003. John’s primary duties today still consist of providing insurance advice to our commercial customers. The designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) was conferred upon him in 2005 by The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.
John has served on regional producer councils for Travelers and C. N. A Insurance Companies. Since 1989, he has also served as an instructor at the University of Delaware’s Small Business Development Center.
In 2007, John was elected as Chairman of the Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers (DAIAB) and was recognized as the 2007 Delaware Insurance Agent of the Year later that year. In addition, in 2008, John was awarded the highest honor possible by the Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland Independent Insurance Agents Group for his work in creating the DAIAB.
John is a life long resident of Delaware having graduated from Archmere Academy and the University of Delaware. John and his family live nearby in Avondale, Pennsylvania. — Back to Top —

He resides in Hockessin, Delaware with his family and is active in several community events.

Operations Manager
jimherbert@poland-sullivan.comA 1979 graduate of Virgina Tech's Business School, Jim has three distinct roles. He functions as the Department Manager for the Personal Insurance Department. He acts as the Company Controller, handling all of the finances and related tasks. And, finally, he handles all of the Human Resources responsibilities. He has spent over 30 years in the insurance industry and has earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

She obtained her State of Delaware insurance license in 1982 and is authorized to provide counsel on Property, Casualty, Surety, Marine, Transportation, and Auto and Homeowners insurances.
